Fanfic Master List

Doctor Who

A Bit Weird (Renamed Distance because man, that was a lame title)
Rose keeps her gaze trained on the window, terrain rushing by like water. Which, she supposes, is appropriate, given that every time she takes a breath she feels like she's drowning. Post Journey's End. Spoilers, obviously.

Dirt
"I do know practically everything, but who thinks, oh, we're going to find a long-lost holy relic to keep this civilization's timeline intact and what do you know, it's going to be buried in a dead planet's aphrodisiac potting soil?"

Do It Quick
Do it quick, like pulling off a plaster, and it won't hurt as much. (Spoilers for 4x13, Journey's End.)

Double Negative
Negative space and mixed metaphors. It's hard to make sense when all you can see is what isn't there.

The Vampire Diaries

drinking the ink from my pen
“He knew,” Damon says, punctuating his words by putting another hole in the concrete. “He left me here to watch you love him, to watch you mourn him, so that there would be no way I could ever be with you.” He pauses, panting, blood streaking his arm to the elbow. “It’s much worse than any torture I ever thought up for him. I must be losing my edge.” Spoilers for S03E09 and prior.

The Vampire Diaries S03E09 Recap

scrabble
Yes, you caught me: I am totally skipping the recap for Ordinary People because yawn. I mean, whatever, you've got emo bad-hair Klaus and bouncy cheerleader Rebekah and an ENORMOUS amount of Original Vamp backstory (which doesn't correspond with anything actually resembling canon) and, I don't know, Mikael grabbing Damon's heart (right there in the bar! Rude) and threatening to rip it out. Oh yeah, and Damon deciding that what Stefan really needs is a boy's night to get over all that pesky compulsion. But you could learn all that from the previouslies. The only POSSIBLY compelling scene involves like 6 seconds of Damon shimmying on a bar, and there's YouTube for that. MOVING ON.

This is the midseason finale, which means, of course, that there will be a dance. Isn't there always a dance?

Read the screencap-happy version on my website

or

Read the text-only version on LJ )

And...we're out. Until January.

Don't worry, I have interim recaps in the meantime.

Not at all sure this will work, but I'm updating from Ping.fm. Gotta see if it posts (for one thing), and if it does, what my default privacy settings turn out to be. Short version: nothing to see here.

ETA: It worked! Er, obviously. Now I just have to go into my settings and make "Friends only" my default. Woot.

in the turn lane

doctor who: yeah
My flist has exploded with comments about Turn Left. I have not watched it yet, since we're babysitting - er, "having a sleepover with" - one of Ellison's friends and suspect that the parents would not be entirely thrilled if their three-year-old comes home chattering about Doctor Who. (Ellison, on the other hand, yells "TARDIS! Flying!" every time the main theme starts.) SO I have the new ep, but have not watched.

And I am totally not going completely out of my mind with anticipation. *twitch*

Banner day chez jezebel: I finally got my Oregon ID card (after living here for only four years!) and (also finally) got new glasses. That's right, I can see things now. Watch out, things.

new glasses!
